The last time we got a flash of flesh from stunning Australian supermodel and former Brisbane babe Miranda Kerr it was purely accidental. Miranda was wearing a plunging black evening gown at a fundraiser earlier in June and was snapped standing at just the right angle to maximise the view of her cleavage. But this time around, Kerr, who recently took Megan’s Gale’s crown as the face and body for David Jones, is baring it all for Men’s Style Magazine.
She will appear on the cover of the mag, pictured, which is out on Monday, wearing nothing but a tiny pair of black shorts and a top hat. But it’s not just a blatant flesh fest. Among other things, Miranda talks about her new supermodel status, and her famous beau Orlando Bloom. “He’s just a guy. He happens to be an actor,” she tells the mag.
As for her supermodel title, Miranda thinks it’s funny. “That’s what they’re calling me, but I don’t really consider myself a supermodel,” she says. “I mean, what is a supermodel? Is it like a superhero? I think it’s funny. I don’t take myself too seriously. I just go along with it.”
Model of the moment Miranda Kerr would want to buy another suitcase before flying back to New York – she has just been stocked with a collection of Alex Perry frocks. After sitting front row at the designer’s fashion week show on Tuesday night, the DJs darling gave Perry’s elegant ensemble the big thumbs up.
“I went up to him and said, ‘Alex, I loved the show’, and he said, ‘Well that’s fantastic Miranda because all of those dresses are in your size and each one is yours whenever you want it,” Kerr happily confessed to Confidential over lunch yesterday.
You would expect Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr to be used to the limousine lifestyle, but really she is just a hippie at heart. The Victoria’s Secret model and girlfriend to Hollywood star Orlando Bloom says she is a greenie.
“I always pull plugs out of the wall when I’m not using appliances, ride my bike everywhere in New York and am passionate about organic food,” Kerr tells Madison magazine’s “green” issue, which goes on sale tomorrow. Kerr, 25, features on the special three-page gatefold magazine cover, wearing an ivy-leaf bikini. The issue features other celebrities voicing their opinions on going green, including actresses Isabel Lucas, Sophie Monk and Brooke Satchwell, and radio’s Merrick Watts, Tim Ross, Hamish Blake and Andy Lee.
“Ten years from now hopefully I’ll be living in a solar-powered house with my vegetable garden out the back,” Kerr said.
She’s used to gracing the world’s top catwalks, but Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr instead will be sitting in the front row at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week this month. The New York-based model will come to Sydney for the event – her first trip home as fashion ambassador for David Jones.
“It’s a different perspective sitting front row than being in the show. I can sit back and appreciate it more,” Miranda said from New York. She will watch the action alongside David Jones fashion boss Colette Garnsey during the fashion festival, which runs from April 26 to May 2. She will also host a dinner on April 23 for the David Jones stars of Fashion Week, including Zimmermann and Lisa Ho.
Whichever way you look at her, Aussie beauty Miranda Kerr is one model on top of her game right now. Posing on a towering Tokyo skyscraper for the upcoming autumn/winter collections catalogue for David Jones, it’s easy to see how Kerr has gone from ordinary Gunnedah gal to all-conquering queen of fashion.
The 23-year-old has recently returned to Australia for her holiday break. But Kerr, a devout Buddhist, recently strutted her stuff for the Aussie retailer alongside last year’s youth brands ambassador Elyse Taylor and the face of DJs Megan Gale. While Gale has announced she’s stepping off the catwalk to focus on pursuing a film career, a long-term deal will see the veteran clotheshorse step out as brand ambassador for the department store for a while yet.
Could Kerr be the next in line to wear the crown as DJs catwalk queen?
Kerr certainly has the catwalk credentials, after strutting her stuff overseas for Victoria’s Secret, with the likes of Alessandra Ambrosio and Heidi Klum.
She also stood her ground when Paris Hilton was humiliated after trying to steal one of Kerr’s catwalk dresses – before Naomi Campbell took it and left Hilton naked backstage.
Touting a Chanel handbag and driving a loaned luxury car, Miranda Kerr was the picture perfect image of a model turned super when she arrived in Sydney this week. Jetting in from New York in time to spend Christmas with her family, the Victoria’s Secret stunner is set to add some serious sex appeal to the sleepy coastal NSW town where she is currently holidaying with her parents and extended family.
While there was no sign of her boyfriend Orlando Bloom, it is rumoured the big screen heart throb could be arriving in Sydney for some summer lovin’ with the Aussie beauty this week. On her arrival into Sydney airport, Kerr was attached to her mobile phone – overheard saying “Baby I wish you were here with me now.”
Miranda Kerr has landed a guest spot on an American TV show, but the Australian model, rumoured to be dating Orlando Bloom, has no aspirations to be an actor. Kerr and fellow Victoria’s Secret models Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Marisa Miller and Selita Ebanks filmed an episode of CBS comedy, How I Met Your Mother, which screened last week. It’s the first acting role for Kerr, now rumoured to be dating Hollywood hunk Orlando Bloom.
“I studied health and nutrition before I started modelling full-time and that is definitely something I am factoring into my future plans,” Kerr, 24, told The Sunday Telegraph. “Right now, I am focused on what I am doing and still feel like I have a lot to learn. I always enjoy trying new things and exploring new opportunities, so we will just have to wait and see.”
