Kerr says no wedding bells, December 2008.

Bikini beauty Miranda Kerr won’t be walking down the aisle any time soon. The Aussie model has denied weekend reports she would wed her boyfriend, actor Orlando Bloom, next year and had been in Venice last week celebrating their engagement.

The Victoria’s Secret beauty was in the Italian city to shoot David Jones’s autumn/winter campaign. The engagement news has sent gossip websites into overdrive for the past 24 hours, leaving Kerr’s agent, Carlii Lyon, to set the record straight yesterday. “Miranda herself has clearly stated she is not engaged,” Lyon said. “There is nothing else to be said.”

Kerr, 25, last week revealed she gets frustrated at being constantly asked about her superstar beau. “Everyone asks me to talk about him and they get really annoyed with me when I say no,” she said. “But if you want to know about him, why don’t you go and ask him? I’m sorry, but that’s just how it is.”

While her modelling career is soaring, Kerr is looking to life beyond the catwalk. She will bring out a self-help book for young girls, Treasure Yourself, next year.

Miranda Kerr’s less-than glamorous future, November 2008.

Australia’s Victoria’s Secret export Miranda Kerr has told of her wholesome dream future on a farm with a hammock, sun-powered home, kids and a vegie patch. Kerr, who is on the front cover of Page Six magazine, spoke of the life she wants to lead after she retires from modelling, but she’s still reluctant to say of her future will include Orlando Bloom as a life partner.

“My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch,” she said. “When this is all over, that’s where I’ll be. I’ve always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen,” said Kerr.

When it comes to her relationship with Bloom, 31, Kerr said: “Everyone asks me to talk about him and they get really annoyed with me when I say no,” said Kerr. “But if you want to know about him, why don’t you go and ask him? I’m sorry, but that’s just how it is.”

Miranda Kerr caught queue-jumping, October 2008.

Even the glamorous Miranda Kerr gets sore feet after a long day at the races wearing heels. She was spied kicking off her very stylish shoes and going barefoot for a few minutes in the David Jones marquee. Kerr impressed everyone with her friendly attitude, although she did have a momentary lapse while placing a bet on the cup.

After a malfunction had put the tote out and just minutes to go until the big race, the stunning clothes horse pushed to the front of the queue waiting at the bookmaker inside the marquee.

As she threw down $25 each way on Master O’Reilly, a disgruntled punter was overheard saying: “Bloody hell, I know she is a supermodel but pull a stunt like that at the country races and you would get into a lot of trouble.” Kerr quickly turned around and, looking genuinely abashed, apologised. “I’m really, really sorry for that,” she said before being whisked away by her minders to watch the cup.

The DJ’s ambassador hit back at rumours her relationship with actor Orlando Bloom was in trouble. She said she was sublimely happy with her man, who was shooting a movie. “People can write whatever they like,” Kerr said. “It doesn’t make any difference to us. We know what the truth is, along with our families and close friends. I don’t even bother reading the reports.”

Who’s hotter: Megan or Miranda? October 2008.

MEGAN Gale is hotter than Miranda Kerr? That’s the consensus of most men we talked to at the Caulfield Cup. But what is your opinion? Although the Victoria’s Secret model pulled focus at Sydney’s autumn racing carnival with her Hollywood boyfriend Orlando Bloom, at last week’s Caulfield Cup it was all about Gale, who stole the show with her pared-down body squeezed into a structured, apricot-coloured Alex Perry dress.

“Megan is much sexier than Miranda,” was the consensus of opinion among most of the blokes hanging out in the David Jones trackside marquee, rating the passing fillies.

You decide. Who is hotter?

Miranda Kerr’s mum tried to foil model bid, September 2008.

Former Brisbane schoolgirl Miranda Kerr is back doing what she does best – looking gorgeous – in Confidential.
But Kerr’s mum, Therese, has revealed her daughter, who commands millions as one of the world’s most in-demand clothes hangers, could have easily found herself a different career had her mother had her way.

When talent scouts followed up photos of Miranda, sent to Dolly magazine’s annual model search contest in 1997, Therese admits she tried to foil their plans from the very start. “I even sent in photos of her with crooked teeth so she wouldn’t win. I didn’t tell her until after she’d won. And she won, damn it,” laughed Therese. More than a decade later, mum admits “we still worry about her”.

But despite the oceans and worlds apart they may seem, Miranda always remains only a phone call away. Therese said: “We talk every day and she texts me every time she gets on a plane and lands again to say she’s safe. “It’s important for our peace of mind. She’s still our only little girl.”

And a financially savvy one at that. Miranda recently flew her mum to New York to help set her daughter up with a business manager they can all trust with the millions Miranda’s banking – reportedly $3.5 million last year.

Good luck continues to follow supermodel Miranda Kerr, August 2008.

Miranda Kerr is late. It’s not her fault. Her flight from Melbourne has held her up. She arrives in a flurry of air-kissing and falsetto hellos. Her lateness is forgivable for a woman who only the night before she had rendered professional chatterbox Rove McManus speechless.

Eight of us are waiting for her at the Sydney studio headquarters of Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, otherwise known as sass & bide. I am introduced to her but she is looking straight past me. “Balloons,” she cries, like an excited six-year-old, pointing to a cluster of oversized colourful foil helium balloons.

She makes it clear she wants to get the shoot wrapped quick smart. “Let’s work together to get this job done. That’s what I’m all about,” she announces before asking Adam, our photographer, to change the lighting set-up. “After 10 years’ modelling, you get to know your face,” she said.

Miranda Kerr won’t buy into Jen Hawkins war, August 2008.

The new face of department store David Jones, Miranda Kerr, has refused to wage war on her rival spokesmodel, Myers’ Jennifer Hawkins. Meeting the press in Melbourne in her new role yesterday, she issued a no comment on the topic of her Hollywood beau Orlando Bloom, but did weigh in on the so called “store wars”. “With regards to Jen – good luck to her,” Kerr said. “I think (the store wars) are silly to be honest with you … I’m sure she’s a lovely girl. She seems really nice … I think it was silly, the whole Megan (Gale) versus Jen thing. I don’t buy into it.”

Kerr also spoke on another perennial debate – Melbourne versus Sydney. “I think it’s a great city,” she said of Melbourne. “The culture down here is a lot different to Sydney. It’s a bit more sophisticated. The coffee’s great down here, too.”

Miranda Kerr brings sex to the city for DJ’s, August 2008.

Miranda Kerr will bring a little sex to summer in the city when she makes her catwalk debut for David Jones on Tuesday night. In statement shoes, florals and frills, the Gunnedah-bred model will replace Megan Gale as the face of the retailer for its summer 2008 collection launch.

Kerr, who was propelled to new modelling heights after starring in a Victoria’s Secret lingerie show, arrived back home last weekend for the summer in the city parades minus beau Orlando Bloom. But rumours that she had split from her actor boyfriend and taken up with American oil heir Brandon Davis were firmly scotched by the 25-year-old beauty, who confirmed they were very much in love and were looking forward to spending time together when she returns to her home in New York. Miranda Kerr’s family says she’s still in love with Orlando, July 2008.

Miranda Kerr’s family has scoffed at reports the supermodel has split with Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, saying the star couple “have never been closer”. Currently living at the New York home of the Victoria’s Secret stunner, Kerr’s brother Matthew and mother Therese said they were “frustrated and upset” by the claims sweeping the cyber world yesterday.

US magazine In Touch Weekly led the charge, inaccurately reporting Kerr had broken up with Bloom and was having a rebound affair with oil fortune heir Brandon Davis. A “witness” told the magazine Kerr and Davis were seen “full-on making out” at New York nightclub 10ak and then again at Beatrice Inn later that night.

Miranda Kerr has samba style, July 2008.

Brisbane-raised beauty Miranda Kerr says she still finds her new supermodel status “funny”. “I definitely have insecurities like every other woman, and I definitely have bad days,” Kerr said. “Now I’ve fallen into what I’m doing, I’m like ‘wow’ and it’s strange to comprehend. I just feel flattered.”

The Gunnedah-born Kerr has just returned from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil after her first shoot for the David Jones retail chain since taking over from Megan Gale in April. The locations included Rio’s iconic Ipanema Beach. “Rio was absolutely divine and we got to shoot in the most beautiful locations,” Kerr said. “I’m happy to be supporting designers under the David Jones group who I’ve grown up with.”

The 25-year-old is dating Hollywood hunk Orlando Bloom. Commenting on her relationship with the Pirates of the Caribbean star, she said: “I’m really happy. He’s just really down-to-earth.”
