The banker caught looking at supermodel Miranda Kerr on his screen at work during a TV interview will be staying in his job. BENEATH the glamorous exterior, the life of supermodel Miranda Kerr isn’t quite the fairytale existence. It’s all there, except life with Hollywood heart-throb Orlando Bloom, which she refuses to comment on. For the most part, Kerr’s version of reality is a working whirlwind of six days and up to three countries a week, 50 weeks of the year. “I just live in the moment and enjoy every step along the way,” Kerr tells CC. “Sometimes I’m running so fast it can be a little overwhelming, but I try and embrace it while I can, because I have perspective on the whole picture and realise this is only for a short time in my life.”
The runway role model first graced our pages in 1997, winning Dolly Magazine’s Australian nationwide model search at 13. She replaced Gisele Bundchen as a Victoria’s Secret angel in 2007, became the new face of retail giant David Jones a year later and now, at 26, is a household name worldwide. And it’s easy to see why. Kerr has the girl-next-door looks, a killer body, the hunk, and incredible wealth (she ranked 10th in the 2008 Forbes.com list of the world’s top-earning models). But away from the paparazzi, Miranda remains a NSW country girl who’s `all time favourite thing to do is cooking’ for family and friends – organic of course – and climbing trees.

This Autumn, prepare to have some fun with fashion. That’s the message from David Jones as the department store reveals what we’ll all be wearing in the upcoming cooler months. And this year it’s all about everything from “relaxed festival dressing” to “ultra-glamorous Parisian” pieces, according to DJs’ group general manager of apparel, cosmetics, accessories and footwear Colette Garnsey.
Recently, the store sent ambassador Miranda Kerr to Queenstown, New Zealand for a dramatic backdrop to show off its collection. “We got to see the most beautiful sights while we were there – from mountains to glaciers to stunning lakes,” Kerr said. “But it was a little cold. We were shooting in the mountains and it was actually minus 20 degrees with a wind-chill factor.”
Garnsey identified five major trends for the winter season of 2010.
“There are some fabulous trends this season which I think are a lot of fun,” she said ahead of the collection’s official launch next month. “There’s a feeling of the ’80s and that’s where the strong shoulder is coming through; we’re seeing the boyfriend jacket with the pushed-up sleeves and body-conscious styling.” Look for some ’80s-esque pieces by Lisa Ho, Willow and Witchery. “Another strong look which flows from that is what we’re calling ‘Metro Modern’, with lots of graphic and abstract prints,” Garnsey said.
“Ginger and Smart, Trelise Cooper, Easton Pearson, Zimmermann and Veronica Maine – this is their forte this season: the modern woman.” Another strong look, she said, was “‘Mademoiselle” and she nominated Saba, Sportscraft and Alannah Hill as the brands best for this trend. “It’s very much picking up that French city girl look and that’s quite cute,” Garnsey said. “Breton striped tees in navy and white or black and white are very important – worn with a boyfriend jacket and cropped trousers. “A more glamorous Parisian look can also be seen in what we’re calling ‘Bourgeois Chic’. Dresses here are the key silhouette and it’s quite graphic with a lot of black and white and red.” Alex Perry, Willow, Collette Dinnigan, Country Road and Lisa Ho all make strong statements with this look. For those who want something more casual, there’s also the festival trend. “It’s about relaxed, layered dressing and ’70s hippy styling,” Garnsey said. “This would be the look to incorporate for customers that can’t let go of their boho chic just yet.” Think checks, skinny or boyfriend jeans and a long cardigan. As to your autumn must-haves, according to Garnsey it’s a black-leather or boyfriend-style jacket, striped Breton T-shirt, leggings, a statement coat and a pair of boots.
The life of a supermodel isn’t all private jets and dating Hollywood actors. It can sometimes involve braving freezing temperatures in skimpy party frocks.
Supermodel Miranda Kerr made sub-zero sexy, starring in David Jones’ latest winter catalogue shot on location in New Zealand. Dressed in a silver creation by Willow, the former Brisbane beauty posed on the shore of Lochnagar, Otago, in this exclusive shot. Behind the scenes, Kerr was transported by helicopter to picturesque scenery to shoot 150 items of clothes and 30 pairs of shoes. Sunday Mail readers have an exclusive sneak peek of the New Zealand photos from David Jones’ catalogue in today’s Fashion section in the Event lift-out.
She will head home to Brisbane next month and is most excited about a shopping trip with her grandma. “I promised grandma some one-on-one time,” Kerr said.
Miranda Kerr was the first Australian model to join that superhot clique, the Victoria’s Secret Angels. (Why her? See photos.) Yes, she dates the wimpy Orlando Bloom. But we’ll try not to hold that against her.
Before I interview 26-year-old model Miranda Kerr, I ask GQ fashion director Madeline Weeks what to expect. “She showed up to the shoot with her Blackberry and her Yorkie,” Madeline says. “No qualms about being naked. Her body is flawless. I wouldn’t mess with Miranda Kerr.” Naturally, I do my best to mess with Miranda Kerr, which is my job, but the girl is unflappable.

Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr is reportedly unhappy following the publication of her pictures on magazine covers without her consent. The 26-year-old beauty and her team were said to be frowning after her images were used on the covers of labels such as Ralph, Cleo and Cosmopolitan, without them being contacted.
“Miranda is really upset and feels exploited by these unauthorised covers and the associated media publications,” the Daily Telegraph quoted a source as telling Hush. “It is things like this that jeopardise her positioning and creditability,” the source added.
Miranda Kerr will be in Melbourne on February 17 for the David Jones autumn/winter 2010 fashion launch at Peninsula, Docklands. Some of the designers who will feature on the day include Sass & Bide, Collette Dinnigan and Alex Perry.
Kerr recently finished a fashion shoot in Queenstown, New Zealand, that will feature at the launch. The theme of the glamorous shoot was A Long White Winter, with renowned fashion photographer Hugh Stewart.

Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, who’s dating actor Orlando Bloom, has confessed that she has a “big crush” on Prince William. “I’ve always had a big crush on Prince William since I was a little girl,” Kerr told Fox’s Pop Tarts recently at the Victoria’s Secret Store in The Grove in Los Angeles.
When asked for the secret behind her gorgeous body, she revealed: “I drink lots of water and get as much sleep as possible. I recommend drinking fresh, organic green juices and doing lots of yoga.”

Bikini babe Miranda Kerr has made a whirlwind trip to Australia for an early Christmas celebration. Kerr arrived in Sydney on Friday from New Zealand, where she had been shooting the David Jones catalogue in Queenstown.
It was nothing short of a “blink and you will miss it” visit by Kerr, who headed back to the US on Sunday. She was dropped off at the airport by her mum, Therese, before she boarded the flight bound for snowy New York. She will presumably celebrate Christmas in the Big Apple with Bloom.
Despite claims that Kerr and Bloom were engaged, the model was noticeably not wearing any rings when she walked through Sydney airport. A women’s magazine claimed last week that Kerr’s brother, budding fashion designer Matthew, had confirmed the exchange of “will you?” and “yes” at a Queensland party. “I can confirm with absolute certainty Matt did not say anything of the sort and was upset to see the article,” a publicist for Bloom said.

Every fashion week, one or two models stick in your head when you run into them over and over at the shows and get a little glimpse into their personality. One of the models who grabbed our hearts this season was Miranda Kerr. ModaFoto met Miranda at Cia Maritima, fell in love with her innocent look at Twinkle, then ran into Miranda again at Jason Wu and ThreeAsFour.
Backstage in the tents at Jason Wu as she grabbed a quick bite before makeup, I asked Miranda where she was from. Miranda pointed to her feet and made a little scooping motion with her hand. I had no idea what she meant. After finishing her bite, Miranda sweetly explained that she is from down under. We’ve always heard that Australia is a beautiful country. When Miranda looks in your eyes, you can see why.
